The office will close on Thursday, December 22nd 1/2 day and is scheduled to re-open on Friday, January 6, 2012. Happy New Year!
A successful College and Career Fair was held at Austin-East in November. More than forty-two community agencies agreed to participate in the Fair and shared information with students as they visited their table.
The first group of students began arriving around 8:30 and the last group arrived at 2:00. There was a steady flow of students that came through the Fair and visited each of the vendors to learn about the many college and career choices available to them.
Middle schools students from Vine Middle School also attended the College and Career Fair. This was a great opportunity for the students who are already thinking about their future.

This year the winner of the 2011 Annual Holiday Card Contest was a student at Spring Hill Elementary School. Students from each of the Project GRAD schools submitted an entry for the contest. The schools selected three of the entries and submitted to Project GRAD Knoxville where a distinguished panel of judges voted on the entries and selected the winner. The students name is Michaela
On Friday, December 9,th, Jerry Hodges (Executive Director, Project GRAD Knoxville) presented this year’s winner with their prize. Michaela Peterson (4th grade) was joined by her mother for the presentation of the prize.
